Tech Conference Video Production at Scale: Google I/O (2015-2023, 2026)

TCV founders designed and led the production and post-production system for Google I/O developer sessions from 2015–2023 and returned in 2026 to support post-production again. This was not just a content program. It was a production system built to ship 140+ technical sessions every year without quality collapse.

When COVID disrupted plans already in motion, the team shifted the entire operation to a remote capture model and still delivered 100+ sessions, many of which are still used today.

The system had to coordinate product teams, speakers, studios, editors, automation, review gates, and launch timing without letting quality collapse under event pressure.

Managed hundreds of technical sessions across multiple Google product teams, led by a small core team and supported by a global network of producers, production specialists, and editors. We maintained high quality even when facing intense challenges, impossible deadlines, COVID-19, and managing hundreds of speakers.

Outcome

We successfully scaled Google's flagship developer content by delivering upwards of 150 product-aligned videos on time annually. These were launched across 10+ Google product YouTube channels, embedded in documentation, and adapted for social media to further extend their reach. These repeatable templates and workflows we established continue to be used to this day.

This involved managing three physical studios in Sunnyvale, NYC, and London, while simultaneously supporting remote presenters across the globe.

2026

TCV Studio was asked to return for Google I/O 2026 to lead post-production, overseeing session editing, supporting live sessions during the event, and delivering keynote and session recaps for the Google I/O team.
